Ahnisa Klu, MA, LPCC
PSR Therapist
Ahnisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. During her graduate studies, she focused on grief and trauma, gaining a deeper understanding of how emotional pain and loss impact mental health and influence a person’s sense of self and connection to others.
Ahnisa’s clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including outpatient mental health clinics, group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and shelters supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. She has provided both individual and group therapy to adults navigating a wide range of mental health concerns. Ahnisa has a particular strength in working with clients who have cognitive disabilities, bringing creativity, patience, and attunement to support their emotional growth and independent living skills.
Ahnisa believes that it is important to create a healing relationship where clients feel safe, supported, and understood in their healing journey.
Clients are often drawn to Ahnisa’s naturally positive and uplifting energy. She brings a vibrant and caring presence into each session, which helps clients feel encouraged, safe, and hopeful. Her approach to therapy is warm, trauma-informed, and rooted in empathy. She believes that healing is not linear and works collaboratively with each person to identify their strengths, build resilience, and move toward meaningful goals at a pace that feels right for them.
Outside of her work, Ahnisa enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and sharing life with her beloved cat. A proud animal lover, she’s always excited to meet her client’s cats!
