Caroline Anawate, MA, LPCC

PSR Therapist

Caroline is a compassionate and creative mental health professional dedicated to providing trauma-informed, client-centered care. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from the University of Georgia—reflecting her belief in the healing power of creativity.

Caroline has worked across a range of clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, private practices, and community organizations. Her time in higher levels of care, particularly with individuals navigating eating disorders and acute psychiatric symptoms, deepened her passion for supporting clients through crisis and long-term recovery alike.

Caroline believes that therapy can be a powerful catalyst for helping clients move their inner needle toward self-acceptance.

She brings extensive experience helping individuals and families manage complex mental health challenges with empathy, safety, and trust. Her clinical style emphasizes individualized support, knowing that healing is never one-size-fits-all and that recovery is rarely a straight line.

She integrates creative expression into her work and draws from trauma-informed frameworks that honor each client’s unique story and strengths. Her approach centers on resilience, holistic growth, and fostering meaningful, sustainable change.

Outside of her work at Sanare, Caroline finds peace in the outdoors—whether hiking, snowboarding, or climbing—and continues to nurture her artistic side through painting and attending live music events.
