Kristina Brown, MA, LPCC
PSR Therapist, Family Consultant
Kristina earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri, with a concentration in psychological assessment and intelligence testing. She has co-authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals focused on intelligence testing and its clinical applications.
In addition to her work with Sanare, Kristina is employed full time as a crisis clinician in partnership with law enforcement. In this role, she has developed advanced expertise in crisis de-escalation, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, suicidality, and determining appropriate levels of care. Clients rely on Kristina for her compassion, clinical judgment, and ability to meet individuals where they are, working collaboratively toward solutions tailored to their unique needs.
Kristina believes that therapy should be a space where people feel safe enough to explore who they are—and empowered enough to grow into who they want to become.
Kristina has extensive experience supporting individuals and families impacted by chronic and persistent mental illness, first-episode psychosis, anosognosia, mental health holds, emergency and involuntary commitments, and guardianship concerns. Prior to her current roles, she worked as a case manager, assisting individuals and families in navigating complex mental health systems and promoting continuity of care.
Drawing from empathy, compassion, and thoughtful persistence, Kristina delivers client-centered and strengths-based care. She strives to provide innovative support that promotes sustainable progress for every client.
Outside of work, Kristina prioritizes time with her family and enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, skiing, and horseback riding. Baking is a favorite pastime and specializes in cakes and anything chocolate!
